happy holidays!

In complete darkness we are all the same, it is only our knowledge and wisdom that separates us, don't let your eyes deceive you.

             - Janet Jackson

Merry Christmas!

To each and everyone one of you, thanks for everything. Whether I know you in real life or just online, it doesn't matter. If you've been a part of my 2009, I'm very grateful. :)

I celebrated Christmas Eve at home with my family, and Christmas Day in Manila with my other relatives. It was quite fun, and I pray that Jesus enjoys his birthday. ;) No matter what happens, Christmas will always be a magical time of year.

You know what I mean? We may not have snow, but the cold mornings, the puto bumbong & bibingka, the lanterns and nochebuena...we have our own special way of being festive. \o/

Which reminds me! Some of you may not celebrate Christmas, so...Happy Hanukkah, or any event you commemorate. You get the point! ^^ Also, why not give back this holiday season? Join Better The World and help raise money for charity just by surfing the web! Make someone else smile. :D

Also, go ahead and ask me questions at my formspring! I'll answer anything. ;] If you have an account there, I'd love to follow you. If you don't, we can always stalk each other on twitter.

'Till then. Enjoy your brand-new presents! xD

frooosty the snowman!
Too many people spend money they haven't earned, to buy things they don't want, to impress people they don't like.

             - Will Smith

Weee! Tonight we had our school's Christmas party! =D It was a lot of fun. ^^ Before the actual party, Alyssa and I went to Eileen's house. Just because. :P The party started with a program...which our class didn't exactly get to watch properly, because kids in front kept standing up and blocking our view. >.> But they lit up a giant Christmas tree, and there were pretty fireworks, so it was still good.

The actual partying was cool. =D Gertie was the ultimate target...of the cupcake icing battle! O_O LOL, seriously. The cupcakes she brought were yummy, but then they turned out to be ammunition. D: I was laughing so hard because she and the others had icing all over the faces, hair and clothes! XD They were running around the building and no one stopped them. =)) I actually got wiped with icing on my cheeks, but I threatened to punch people if they smeared more than that.

And I looked like a girl. Eww. :o Never mind. On to the presents! :3 I received quite a lot, so a big thank you to everyone! <3 Sorry to those I didn't buy gifts for. I owe you next Christmas! :P I got...silver earrings, a fluffy pillow, a cactus in a pot (lolwhut), cards, stuffed toys, a mug, and loads of other stuff. I also saw some alumni and ex-students who visited, it's always nice to see them. I guess. :))

What bothers me though, is how a number of people actually cried during the party. :| I mean, come on, it's supposed to be jolly-cheery-singsong time! :o You'll see your classmates again in about 2 weeks, so really. >.> Gahh. Emotional people can be so awkward. Just keep a smile on and get to the point! All these 'sad' facebook wall posts are disturbing.

Photos will be posted when I have the time.

ghosts fail.
I don't deal well with admiration if it's for something I haven't done.
Other than exist.

So yeah, I spent about 80 minutes watching the ever-popular Paranormal Activity with my brother and sister.

And frankly, I'm disappointed. Critics called it the 'horror movie of the year', 'a potent frightfest' and said that it will 'fry your nerves'. THEY LIED >___>

Darn. It was so lame. :/ Of course, I know it was an amateur film, and I applaud the staff for the effort, but...it's not something I enjoyed. Everything was epically corny. I felt like I was watching desperate attention-seekers on TV who obviously pretend to be scared. The acting wasn't so bad, but I hated the effects that could scare only kids.

Even Orphan is scarier. Really. 8-| By all means, watch Paranormal Activity if you really want to. Just don't get your hopes up. ;)

there's something wrong with esther.
The fact that my 15 minutes of fame has extended a little longer than 15 minutes is somewhat surprising to me and completely baffling to my wife.

              - Barack Obama

Today we watched "Orphan" at school (on pirated DVD, of course...LOL)! Isabelle Fuhrman, who plays the main character Esther/Leena, is a great actress. :o She's also really pretty, in that devilish little girl way.

Also, Aryana Engineer was so cute as Max! O_O Her character is mute & nearly deaf, and I just discovered she is also hearing-impaired in real life. That's why they cast her, she's already fluent in sign language.

The movie's plot is really good. :-bd I'm not gonna spoil it for you, in case you haven't watched it yet, but it's worth your money. I love the twists, and Esther's pure evilness. The beginning of the film (when Kate dreams of her newborn baby being drilled to death by doctors) is what disturbed me most. :/

The funny part was the ending, when Esther's neck breaks. No, I'm not saying I find it amusing to have your neck cracked. It's just that Darren kept replaying that part and we were all laughing so hard. XDXD

A LOT of grade school kids were peeping through the windows to watch the movie. I wanted to slap their faces away because...well, the language and the scenes were...inappropriate for their age. =)) So anyway, it was a good movie. :P

put it in your pocket...
In a world filled with despair, we must still dare to dream. And in a world filled with distrust, we must still dare to believe.

             - Michael Jackson

I'm now the proud owner of the cutest furry little bastards evar! XD Guess what they are, huh? Huh? YEEEES, THEY'RE WHITE MICE! o.o Trust me, unless you're like Walt Disney and you have musophobia, I'm pretty sure you'll like 'em, too. :3 I'll post pictures when I get the chance!

You might be wondering why I suddenly bought mice. >_< Well, we have this investigatory project in our Science class, and our group (consisting of me, Gertie and Gino) decided to write about: The Effects of Artificial Vitamins on Mice!

We have 6 mice, 2 for each of us, and 5 of them will be given a daily dose of a certain vitamin (you know, in liquid form) with their food/water. One mouse (lucky bastard) won't be given supplements and will be fed normally. We'll observe the differences in their behavior, if any, after a week. :)

THE MICE: Meekakitty (named after Tessa Violet), Tiffany (after Tiffany Alvord), Anne and Toni (both after Anthony Diez), Ben (after Michael Jackson's song), and one yet-to-be-named mouse. 8D

heroic, eh?
If we cannot end now our differences, at least we can help make the world safe for diversity.

              - John F. Kennedy

Happy Bonifacio Day! Of course, the only reason anyone celebrates this holiday is because we're all free from school & work. Be honest; how many times today have you thought about Andres Bonifacio and what he did for our country? Once, twice, never? Yeah, figures.

Truth is, unless you really love history or you're a museum curator of sorts, you probably don't care about Bonifacio. And there's nothing I can do about that...I myself aren't too interested in him either. :P

But now, try spending a minute - just one minute - appreciating his heroism. It'll be enough. :) I'm just blogging because I'm bored, so this will be short. Just remember that we wouldn't have the freedom we enjoy today if dudes like Bonifacio didn't stand up for us. ;]

Of course, the Philippines is still obviously underrated. Go make something of your life and be a modern hero. Or something.

PS. HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEN! =D !!!
